Liquid Waste
In 2013, a major expansion was done at our facility in preparation of the new Fur Act regulations that were coming into effect in January 2016. Any liquid waste accumulated on fur farms would now be required to be hauled offsite to an approved facility. This was a natural fit for our current facility, due to the fact that we were already collecting mink waste from farmers. Thus, over the course of several months, a wastewater dewatering building was built, along with a primary cell, secondary cell and several bio-retention cells.
Spec Environmental Solutions owns and operates a 3,600 gallon, 2,400 psi vacuum truck equipped with an 8 inch remote, hydraulic suction boom. This vehicle is regularly used to pick up waste mink feed and liquid manure for disposal. It is also available to the fishing and other industries for any spills of contaminated product and delivered to the appropriate disposal facility.
